Shyanne Poutai

Shyanne is Northland born and breed wahine, Whangārei being her hometown. She spent her Secondary school years at Kamo High school, where she first discovered her passion for hauora.  After graduating in 2012, she packed her belongings and headed for the big smoke to pursue a Bachelor in Sport & Recreation.  It was during this tertiary study that her love for haoura in particular human anatomy was embedded further.

Shyanne then decided to take a leap of faith and move down to chilly Christchurch.  The only person she knew was an uncle who she hadn’t seen for over 8 years.  Shyanne’s passion for hauora and her new found love of human anatomy, made her determined to pursue a career that encapsulated these wisdoms.  One day, during a chance encounter with a tutor at the New Zealand College of Massage, her intuition peaked and without any doubt she enrolled for the class of 2017.

Over the next two years of study Shyanne took every opportunity to gain as much clinical experience as possible, such as working with the Canterbury Crusaders, New Zealand Warriors, Christchurch Marathon and Coast to Coast.  And, graduated as one of the top of her class with a Level 6 Diploma in Clinical Massage.

Her greatest career achievement to date is traveling to Cape Town, South Africa with the 2019 Women’s Masters Indoor cricket team. Her greatest personal achievement is becoming a mother in May 2021 to her beautiful daughter Laniākea .

As a Clinical Massage Therapist of five years Shyanne strives to stay up to date with the latest evidence & continued education. Deepening her knowledge & skills by understanding that healing comes not just from within the physical realm. She is a Reiki & Mirimiri practitioner, and continues to be guided on furthering these knowledge bases.

Shyanne loves educating and empowering clients about their own hauora through massage therapy, exercises / stretching or a holistic approach.  Her massaging sessions are a mixture of relaxation and therapeutic techniques, such as deep tissue therapy, myofascial treatments, neuromuscular and trigger point therapy.

Outside of the clinic you will find her in nature, chasing rivers and exploring the city of one hundred beaches. She also loves whānau time and catching up with friends.

She is a registered member of Massage New Zealand and is a Southern Cross Easy-claim provider.
